Technical access data

When you visit the website, the hosting provider and its technical service providers may temporarily process information such as your IP address, the time of access, requested page, browser type and referrer. This helps provide the website securely and reliably.

Municipality search

Search terms and calculations are currently processed in your browser and are not stored as a personal profile. There are no user accounts. Your choice about optional analytics services is stored locally in your browser so it can be applied on future visits.

Location-based selection

If you have already allowed your browser to access your location, we use it when you visit the home page to select your municipality automatically. We do not request permission ourselves. The coordinates are sent to the Swiss Confederation’s official GeoAdmin service to identify the municipality. Hundesteuer.ch does not store the coordinates.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 to analyse use of Hundesteuer.ch (for example, pages visited and technical access data) and improve the service. The service loads only after you consent. The provider is Google Ireland Limited. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Microsoft Clarity helps us improve the usability of the website. Clarity analyses clicks, scrolling, mouse movements and technical information, and creates session replays and heatmaps. Sensitive content and the contents of input fields and drop-down menus are masked by default. Clarity loads only after you consent. For more information, see Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.

The website currently contains no personalized advertising. You can change your consent at any time using cookie settings in the footer. You can also block cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
